CASE STUDY
Bristol Composites Institute.
An annual Symposium celebrating the work of researchers and alumni from the institute.

The Context
The annual Bristol Composites Institute PGR Symposium brings together postgraduate researchers, academics and industry partners to share research spanning materials science, manufacturing, modelling and engineering. With more than 20 Phd presentations taking place throughout each day, the challenge is helping a multidisciplinary research community communicate complex ideas, both internally and to external audiences.
The Result
The graphic recordings provides an overview of the research landscape, helping a multidisciplinary research community communicate complex ideas, both internally and to external audiences; making highly technical research accessible without oversimplifying it.
Each year introduced new research, new challenges and new ideas. Yet certain themes kept reappearing: each building upon the previous work, developing into a complex ecosystem of research.
Seeing these visual summaries together tells a story that no single event could. Together they become a narrative of progress, revealing the development of this symposium, the institute and it’s research landscape over time and providing a valuable record of its journey.

Key Themes:

“Championing our resourceful peninsula as a global leader where world-class nature recovery, food security, and innovative blue and green growth move together. By uniting our heritage of farming, fishing, and mining with modern industries, we create a unified strategic voice that proves land and sea stewardship is inseparable from the well-being of our people.”
